United Friends of the Children empowers current and former foster youth on their journey to self-sufficiency through service-enriched education and housing programs, advocacy, and consistent relationships with a community of people who care. UFC has two direct service departments: Housing and Education. The Pathways Program provides transition-aged youth with housing and support services as they seek to obtain stable and secure housing and employment. The College Readiness Program provides seventh through twelfth grade foster youth with academic counseling and support to help them graduate from high school and attend a four-year college. The College Sponsorship Program provides academic, personal and financial support to foster youth to help them graduate from a four-year college. 

Our goal is that the youth in our programs not only survive, but that they thrive.

The Counseling and Support Team at United Friends of the Children provides holistic, tailored support to foster youth, helping them navigate educational and housing challenges. The team offers academic counseling, emotional support, advocacy, and assistance with transition planning to ensure youth achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Through specialized programs like College Readiness and Pathways, they empower youth to not only survive but thrive in their personal and professional lives.
