Ricardo Ahumada

Ricardo Ahumada has a diverse work experience spanning several companies in the medical industry. Ricardo began their career at Siemens Medical Systems, where they worked as a Sr. Staff Software Engineer for the Ultrasound Group from 1989 to 1998. Ricardo then joined Siemens Medical Solutions Oncology Group, where they worked as a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, specializing in the development of software for an Oncology Radiation Therapy machine. During their time there, they also played a key role in designing and implementing a prototype to update the Control System Architecture.

In 2012, Ahumada transitioned to Varian Medical Systems, where they served as an Engineer 4 and team leader for the Scanning Nozzle subsystem in a Proton Therapy medical device. Ricardo was responsible for controlling and supervising the beam positioning and managing the magnets to position the beam using VxWorks 6. In 2013, they joined United Imaging Healthcare as a Principal Engineer, leading a team of US engineers in developing a sophisticated radiation therapy system for the Chinese market. Their responsibilities included the architecture and development of software for the control system.

Ahumada then moved to Fresenius Medical Care North America in 2018, where they worked as a Staff Software Engineer until their retirement in 2023. Overall, their work experience highlights their expertise in software development for medical equipment and their ability to lead and contribute to complex projects in the healthcare industry.
