United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians
Choogie Kingfisher serves as the Cultural Coordinator for the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians since October 2021. As the Founder of the Medicine Eagle Dance Troupe established in January 1984, Choogie Kingfisher has been instrumental in promoting Powwow demonstrations, Kituwah Cherokee storytelling, and traditional activities. Previous roles include serving as the Cherokee Cultural Coordinator for the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation, where services were provided to youth and elders, and as the Adult Housing Resident Cultural Coordinator within the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Additionally, Choogie Kingfisher has experience as the Director of Culture and History for the United Keetoowah Band from July 2003 to July 2013.
