Valerie Sutton currently serves as the Head at the United Nations Global Compact since November 2021. Previously, Valerie held multiple roles at the City of New York's Department of Homeless Services from November 2016 to November 2021, including Senior Advisor and Special Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner for Adult Services. Valerie's early career includes positions such as Early Childhood Educator at Kinder Barcelona, Graduate Intern/Research Associate at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and English Language Teaching Assistant in Spain. Additional experience includes Program Manager and Public Engagement Coordinator at The Center for Arts Education, Special Events Coordinator at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, Marketing Coordinator at Stuhrling Original, and Media & Marketing Coordinator at The First Tee of Metropolitan New York. Valerie holds a Master's Degree in Social Policies and Community Mediation from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a Master's in Research in Sociology and Demography from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and a B.A. in Mass Communications with a Minor in Fine & Performing Arts from Iona University.
