Antti Korkeakivi has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of human rights. Antti has worked at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights as the Chief of the Indigenous Peoples and Minorities Section from January 2009 to February 2018, and as the Chief of the Anti-Torture, Capacity-Building, Coordination and Funds Section, Human Rights Treaties Branch from March 2018 onwards. Antti has also served as a Visiting Human Rights Fellow at Harvard Law School from September 2016 to January 2017. Prior to that, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University in the City of New York from July 2008 to December 2008. Antti has a strong background in the Council of Europe, where they held various human rights positions including Head of Minority Division from 1997 to 2008. Antti also worked as a Legal Advisor at Human Rights First and as a Freelance Journalist.

Antti Korkeakivi obtained their Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Columbia Law School, where they studied from 1993 to 1994. Prior to that, they completed their Law Degree at the University of Helsinki from 1988 to 1992. Further details about their field of study have not been provided.
