Malak Kanj

Malak Kanj is an experienced professional in information management and environmental research, currently serving as an Associate Information Management Officer at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs since June 2022. Previously, Malak worked with UN-Habitat Lebanon to enhance municipal data management and validate data for the Lebanon Financing Facility Project. Malak's academic background includes a Master of Science in Geoinformation in Environmental Management from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania and advanced degrees in Phyto-Ecology and Biology from Lebanese University. Notable past roles include conducting research on water quality and phytoplankton dynamics at the National Council for Remote Sensing and managing a significant database of marine species observations at the American University of Beirut. Malak has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at international conferences, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental monitoring and data analysis.
