Eugene Kongnyuy serves as the Deputy Director at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since September 2009, leading a team to provide strategic guidance and emergency operations focused on Gender-Based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive Health across various levels. Previously, Eugene held multiple roles within UNFPA, including Country Representative for Mali and Nigeria, where oversight of program delivery and capacity development was paramount. As UN H6 Coordinator, strategic contributions to maternal health policies were made in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the role of Chief Technical Adviser in Madagascar, innovative training approaches were developed for Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care. Academic experience includes serving as a Clinical Lecturer in Sexual and Reproductive Health at the University of Liverpool, complemented by extensive educational qualifications in Public Health and Medicine from esteemed institutions.
