Hawa Abdullahi Elmi

Hawa Abdullahi Elmi is a dedicated Program Specialist at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since April 2019, focusing on strengthening midwifery education and practice in Somalia and advocating for sustainable solutions to enhance maternal health outcomes. Prior to this role, Hawa served as the Principal of the National Midwifery Training Institute under the Ministry of Health Somalia from June 2012 to March 2019 and as a Senior Educator at SOS Children's Villages Somalia from June 2006 to March 2019. Hawa's educational background includes a Certificate in Maternal and Child Health from Karolinska Institutet, a Master's degree in Public Health, and a Bachelor's degree in Nurse Midwife/Nursing Midwifery, both from Benadir University, as well as a Higher National Diploma in Medical Education from KMTC and a diploma in Registered Nursing from SOS Nursing College.
