Augustine Karani

Augustine Karani is a seasoned communications and advocacy professional with extensive experience in international organizations. Currently serving as the Communications, Advocacy and Development Coordination Specialist at the United Nations since January 2023, Augustine leads the execution of a unified advocacy and communication strategy in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Kenya. Previous roles include Global Communications Manager at Equalize Health, where Augustine implemented digital strategies to enhance donor engagement, and Hub Communications Officer at ForumCiv, focusing on regional communication strategies that contributed to raising approximately $19.5 million in funding. Other notable positions include Regional Media & Communication Officer at the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance and Communications Officer at Forum Syd, with a strong track record in capacity building and media network engagement. Augustine holds a Master's in Gender and Development Studies from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing a Master's in Strategic Communications at Aga Khan University.
