Johnstone Summit is a Kenyan national with over two decades of experience in humanitarian diplomacy, coordination, and political research. They served as the OCHA Representative to the African Union from February 2020 to March 2023 and currently lead the Africa Desk in the External Relations and Partnership Section at OCHA. With 15 years of operational and strategic humanitarian coordination in the Horn, eastern, and Great Lakes regions of Africa, as well as the Middle East, Johnstone has collaborated closely with various organizations to enhance partnerships focused on peace and security. They hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Moi University and a Master's degree in International Studies from the University of Nairobi. As a Fellow of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, Johnstone is a keen observer of international affairs and their societal impacts.
