Michael Markarian

Michael Markarian has extensive work experience in the field of tax. Michael started their career as a Staff Auditor at Sansiveri, Kimball & McNamee, LLP in 1995. Michael then worked as a Senior Tax Analyst at Deloitte from 1997 to 1999. Michael subsequently joined Ahold as a Senior Tax Analyst from 1999 to 2001. From 2001 to 2010, they worked at Boston Scientific, where they held positions as a Senior Tax Analyst, Tax Manager, and ultimately Tax Director. In 2010, they joined PerkinElmer, Inc. as a Tax Director and worked there until 2012. Currently, they hold a leadership role at UNFI as the Senior Vice President of Tax, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this, they held positions at UNFI as Vice President of Tax from 2016 to 2022 and as Tax Director from 2012 to 2016.

Michael Markarian completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Stonehill College in 1995. Michael then pursued a Masters degree in Tax from Northeastern University, which they attained in 2000. Prior to their college education, Michael attended BC High from 1987 to 1991. Michael has also obtained a certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
