United Network For Organ Sharing
James Alcorn currently serves as the Senior Director of the Election Law Program at William & Mary Law School, where responsibilities include developing resources for judges on election cases, supporting educational projects on election laws, and overseeing ELP initiatives. Previously, Alcorn held multiple roles at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) since February 2011, including Senior Policy Strategist, where governance for innovative project prioritization was developed; Policy Director, managing a team overseeing the nation’s organ transplantation rule-making; and Policy Analyst, leading a rewrite of policies for accessibility. Alcorn also worked as Policy Advisor and then Deputy Secretary at the Virginia State Board of Elections, handling legislative and regulatory matters. Early career experience includes serving as a Laboratory Assistant at NIST. Alcorn earned a JD from the University of New Hampshire and a BA in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, alongside studies at the University of Oxford and the University of Virginia.
