James Pomposelli, MD, PhD, currently serves as the Chairman of the National Liver Review Board and the Liver and Intestine Committee at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) since May 2021, focusing on organ allocation policy development. At the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, James has been the Surgical Director of Adult Liver Transplantation since June 2016, overseeing a historically significant program. Previously, James co-founded Bellecore LLC, a wellness company, and held various leadership roles, including Chair of the Legislative and Regulatory Committee and the Reimbursement Committee at the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. James was also the Surgical Director of Transplantation at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center from 1999 to 2016, contributing to the largest live donor liver transplant program in the US. James holds an MD and PhD from Boston University and a BS in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Rhode Island.
