Jan Pestka has a diverse work experience that spans several decades. They started their career in 1976 as an Assistant Deputy Superintendent at the Chicago Police Department. They worked in this role until 2001, gaining extensive experience in law enforcement. In 2001, Pestka joined the City of Chicago as an Assistant Commissioner, serving in that position for four years. In 2007, Pestka transitioned to the United Service Companies, where they held the role of Director of New Business.
Jan Pestka completed a Law Enforcement - Long Course in Police Administration at Northwestern University from 1990 to 1991. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science degree in Criminal Social Justice from Lewis University, where they studied from 1983 to 1987.
