Michaela McGinn

Michaela McGinn is an experienced agricultural program manager currently overseeing the national oil and soybean meal research portfolios at Smithbucklin for the United Soybean Board since October 2021. Previously, Michaela held various roles at CoverCress Inc. from July 2017 to October 2022, including Director of External and Regulatory Affairs, where management of university and external partnerships took priority. In addition, Michaela served as Genotyping Lead and Regulatory Advisor, developing a new laboratory space and navigating regulatory challenges for commercial products. Early career experiences include a postdoctoral researcher position focusing on gene manipulation at CoverCress Inc., and work as a Doctoral Student at Illinois State University, where Michaela developed protocols for utilizing pennycress in biodiesel production. Michaela's academic background includes a PhD in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Illinois State University, completed in 2018.
