Cyber Warfare Officer at United States Cyber Command

Connor Hamlet has a diverse work experience in the cyber security field. Connor started their career as a Software Security and Machine Learning Intern at the University of North Dakota in 2015, where they developed a machine learning algorithm for detecting network intrusions. Connor then worked as a Cyber Security Teaching Assistant at the Computer Science Department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they led recitations and held office hours for computer science students. In 2016, they worked as a Web Developer at the Cameo Art House Theatre.

In 2017, Connor joined Vigilant Cyber Systems, Inc. as an Offensive Cyber Security Engineer, where they focused on zero-day discovery and analysis and hacked into cars and semi-trucks. Connor also worked at the United States Air Force as a Cyber Operations Officer, before transitioning to U.S. Cyber Command as a Cyber Warfare Officer in 2019.

During their time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Computer Security Graduate Student, Connor conducted offensive computer security research and analysis. Connor was also part of a team that won "Best Use of AWS" at HackDuke, a programming competition. Additionally, they presented a paper at the Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces in 2015 as an Academic Researcher in the User Interfaces department.
