Cyber Operations Planner at United States Cyber Command

Emily Otto has worked in various roles and organizations throughout their career. Emily started in the US Army in 2017 as an Officer. In 2018, they joined the Cyber Protection Brigade as a Knowledge Management Officer, where they established the KM program and led the brigade's shift into the Commercial Virtual Remote environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Emily also served as an Executive Officer, coordinating engagements and representing the brigade in leadership boards and conferences. Additionally, Emily worked as a Computer Network Defense Manager for Mission Element 2 of 155 Cyber Protection Team.

In 2021, Emily joined the United States Cyber Command as a Cyber Operations Planner. In this role, they led a team in producing the CNMF's annual campaign order and standardized operational reports and mission planning processes. Emily also worked at the US Army Cyber Center of Excellence as a student from February to August 2021.

Before their military career, Emily was an Intern at the Patton Museum from 2009 to 2010. Emily assisted in sorting and cataloging documents and photographs, led tours for civilian and military groups, and contributed to the historic tank restoration and preservation program.

Overall, Emily Otto has gained experience in various areas of the military, specializing in cyber operations planning, knowledge management, intelligence management, and museum operations.

Emily Otto completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History at the University of Louisville from 2008 to 2011. Emily then pursued an Associate of Science (AS) in Military Intelligence, Command Control and Information Operations at Cochise College in 2013. Later, from 2015 to 2017, Emily earned their Master of International Affairs with a focus on National Security Policy Studies at Texas A&M University - The Bush School of Government and Public Service.

In addition to their formal education, Emily obtained several certifications in various information technology fields. Emily obtained the following certifications: "Implementing and Administering Cisco Networking Technologies" from Cisco in December 2021, "CompTIA Cloud Essentials" from CompTIA in October 2020, "Linux Essentials" from the Linux Professional Institute in August 2020, "Information Technology Infrastructure Library" from PeopleCert in December 2019, "CCNA" from Cisco in February 2022, "EC-Council Certified Incident Handler - ANSI" from EC-Council in April 2021, "CompTIA Network+" from CompTIA in June 2020, "CompTIA A+" from CompTIA in May 2020, "Associate of (ISC)²" from (ISC)² in September 2021, and "Security+" from CompTIA in October 2018.
