Heema Waqar is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in financial management and procurement. Currently serving as the Senior Finance and Procurement Manager at the United States Institute of Peace since January 2020, Heema previously held the position of Senior Finance Manager at an NGO from October 2010 to January 2022, where responsibilities included organizing financial systems and developing a financial manual. Earlier in the career, Heema worked as a Collection Officer at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. from October 2000 to March 2006, managing a portfolio of over 2000 accounts. Heema holds a Master in Commerce (MCOM) from Hailey College of Commerce, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Virtual University, and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from Punjab College of Commerce. Additionally, Heema has completed a certificate in Negotiation, Finance, and Financial Management Services from The London School of Economics and Political Science in late 2022.
