Moustafa Ahmad

Moustafa Ahmad is an Early Career Scholar at the United States Institute of Peace, focusing on the strategic and political dynamics between Somaliland and Taiwan amid Chinese state responses. Prior to this role, Moustafa was engaged with the Rift Valley Institute, conducting research on climate change crises in Somaliland, and served as Intervention Manager at DT Global, specializing in cultural heritage mapping in the region. Experience also includes an internship at the International Crisis Group, where Moustafa contributed to research reports on Somalia, and positions at the Hargeysa Cultural Centre, including Junior Researcher, Program Coordinator, and Chief Librarian. Moustafa holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs from New Generation University College and has completed graduate-level training in Oral History from the Open Society University Network.
