HQ Space Operations Command Occupational Safety & Health Division Chief at United States Space Force

James Leonard, M.S., CSP, SMS currently serves as the HQ Space Operations Command Occupational Safety & Health Division Chief for the United States Space Force since July 2021. Prior roles include Occupational Safety Functional Manager at the HQ U.S. Space Force and Major Command Functional Manager at Air Force Space Command. His extensive experience spans various positions at the Air Force Safety Center, where James was Military Deputy Chief and Branch Chief of Safety Reports, Analysis, and Investigations. James has held significant safety management roles in European and African commands and has a solid foundation in avionics from his early career in the United States Air Force. Academically, James holds a Master’s degree in Emergency Services Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University, alongside several associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force and technical education in Italy.
