Andrew Ladner has a diverse work experience, starting in 1985 when they served in the US Army as a Plans & Operations/Civil & Combat Engineer until 1996. Andrew then worked as a Vascor Logistics Manager at APL from 1996 to 1998. After that, they served as a Marketing Manager at MCI WORLDCOM Communications Inc from 1998 to 1999. Andrew then became the Corporate Relations Director at Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston from 1999 to 2002. From 2005 to 2012, they worked as the Vice President of Membership & Military Services at the Home Builders Association of Raleigh - Wake County. In 2012, they became the State Commissioner of Military Volunteerism for the State of North Carolina until 2013. Since 2007, they have been the Co-Founder of Operation Coming Home, and since 2015, they have also been serving as the President of the organization. Additionally, in 2008, they became the President of the United States Veterans Corps, a position that they still hold.

Andrew Ladner attended Duke University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a degree in Non-Profit Management. Prior to that, they attended Full Sail University from 2003 to 2004 and obtained an Associate of Science in Film & Photography. In 1993-1994, Ladner studied Leadership & Management at the Army Logistics University - College of Professional and Continuing Education. In 1990, they also completed a Leadership & Management program at the U.S. Army NCO Leadership Academy. Lastly, in 1985-1986, Ladner studied Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering at the Defensive Mapping US Engineer Academy.
