John Mickanolis

John Mickanolis is currently the Director at United Way Association of South Carolina. John has over 15 years of experience working in the non-profit sector. Prior to their current position, John served as the Executive Director of Children Come First, an advocacy organization focused on child welfare policy improvements and innovation. John also served as the Volunteer and Community Partnership Coordinator for Educate Tomorrow, Corp, where they supported the volunteer mentoring program for young adults aging out of the foster care system. In addition, John spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Benin, where they worked on natural resource management projects. John has a passion for social justice and improving the lives of vulnerable populations. John is a dedicated leader with a proven track record of success in the non-profit sector.

John Mickanolis received their Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from James Madison University. John also has a certification from The Riley Institute at Furman in Diversity Fellow.
