United Way of Anchorage
Michele Brown serves as the President of United Way of Anchorage since 2003, leading initiatives to foster measurable community improvements in education, housing stability, and health access for residents. Previously, Michele held the position of Commissioner for the State of Alaska's Department of Environmental Conservation from 1996 to 2002, where responsibilities included developing state environmental policies and overseeing a large workforce and substantial budget. Additionally, Michele worked as a Senior Environmental Advisor for the United States Agency for International Development in Moscow from 1993 to 1995. Michele earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a focus on Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley.
