Karla Lawrence, M.S., LPC has worked in various roles within the field of community initiatives and mental health. Karla began their career as an Outpatient Therapist at Chilton-Shelby Mental Health in 2001, where they remained until 2004. In 2005, Karla joined the Children's Aid Society as the Director of Clinical Operations, a position they held for ten years. In 2015, Karla joined the United Way of Central Alabama as the Vice President of Community Initiatives, and later became the Senior Vice President in 2017.

Karla Lawrence, M.S., LPC has an educational background in psychology. Karla obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Troy University in 1999.
