Laura Johnson

Laura Johnson is the SVP, Chief Innovation & Data Research Officer at United Way of Central Maryland. Laura has over 25 years of experience in marketing and communications. Laura has a passion for helping others and has dedicated their career to working for organizations that make a difference in people's lives.

Laura began their career as a Media Relations Manager for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Laura then became the Community Affairs Director for the National Aquarium in Baltimore, where they oversaw all marketing and communications for the organization. In 2004, Laura became the Vice President of Communications for the National Summer Learning Association, where they helped shape national strategy to broaden awareness and impact of summer opportunities for America's most vulnerable students.

Most recently, Laura was the Vice President of Communications for March of Dimes Foundation, Georgia Chapter. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all marketing communications to support research, policy and program practices for the organization. Laura is currently the SVP, Chief Innovation & Data Research Officer at United Way of Central Maryland, where they lead the organization's efforts to innovate and create positive change in the communities they serve.

Laura Johnson has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Hofstra University and a high school diploma from Western High School.

Laura Johnson reports to Franklyn Baker, President & CEO. Laura Johnson works with Angie Mcallister - VP, Senior Program Officer, Lillian Kilroy - SVP, Chief Development Officer, and Rob Clark - SVP, Chief Grants Officer.
