Dianne Ralston is currently a trustee at United Way of Greater Houston. Prior to that, they were senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary at FMC Technologies from January 2015 to January 2017. Before that, they were executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary at Weatherford International plc from July 2014 to January 2015.
Ralston began their career at Schlumberger Ltd., where they served as deputy general counsel for corporate and IP enforcement from November 2012 to July 2014. In this role, they were responsible for legal support for mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, tax, treasury, equity plan management, and corporate administration. Dianne also developed and implemented the company’s intellectual property enforcement strategy.
From November 2010 to November 2012, Ralston served as deputy general counsel for government affairs, litigation, and IP enforcement. In this role, they managed a team of 17 legal and IT professionals responsible for dispute management and resolution, including complex commercial, personal injury, property damage, employment, shareholder, and environmental litigation; enforcement of intellectual property rights through patent infringement, copyright, and trade secret litigation; management of government inquiries and investigations; and implementation of litigation management and forensic IT practices. Ralston also managed the company’s government engagement strategy consistent with its anti-lobbying policy.
Prior to their career in the legal industry, Ralston worked as a civil engineer for the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
Dianne Ralston completed their undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing & Operations Management. Dianne then went on to attend the University of Houston Law Center, where they earned their JD in Law.
