Cara Cardotti has extensive experience in social services and program management. Currently, as the THRIVE Collaborative Manager at United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg since October 2014, Cara directs the operations of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, providing free tax assistance to eligible individuals and families and facilitating training for over 150 IRS-certified volunteers annually. Prior to this role, from October 2005 to October 2014, Cara served as a Family Services Specialist at Hanover County Department of Social Services, where responsibilities included administering the Employment Services Program for 50 participants and developing individualized service plans. Cara holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Mary Baldwin University.
