Joe Burris has extensive work experience in the field of journalism. Joe began their career as a Reporter for USA TODAY in 1985 before moving on to work for the Nashville Tennessean and The Boston Globe. In 2004, they joined The Baltimore Sun where they covered education issues in the Baltimore area for over a decade. In 2015, Joe transitioned into the nonprofit sector as a Program Officer for the Marguerite Casey Foundation, where they managed grants and provided support to organizations advocating for marginalized communities. In 2021, they joined United Way of King County as the Associate Director of Public Relations.
Joe Burris attended Howard University from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
