Charles Tillen is a partner in the Boston office. He joined the firm in 1996 and is a leader in Bain’s NA Private Equity Practice. In addition to serving LBO sponsors, he has worked with clients in the consumer products and retail sectors (food, packaged goods and apparel) and financial services sectors (retail banking, insurance, asset management, mortgage banking and credit cards). His areas of expertise include diligence, M&A strategy, corporate strategy, business unit strategy, portfolio analysis, and international strategy.
Prior to joining Bain, Charles worked for Smith Barney as a second vice president in municipal investment banking, focusing on infrastructure financing, particularly airport and airline finance.
He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in May 1996 and is a 1988 graduate of Yale University, where he received a cum laude Bachelor of Arts with distinction in two majors, economics and history.
