David Hawthorne

David Hawthorne has a diverse work experience starting from 1994 as a professional BMX rider. From 1997 to 2008, they worked as a freelance marketing professional, content creator, journalist, photographer, and videographer. David also owned and published Red BMX Magazine from 2001 to 2007. In 2001, they joined McNally Robinson Booksellers as a Director of Marketing, Communications, Creative Director, Brand Manager, and Art Director. Following this, they worked as a Director of Marketing & Communications at Magellan Luxury Hotels from 2008 to 2013. David then served as the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications at Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 2013 to 2017. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as the Chief Marketing Officer at Pricerazzi. In 2017, they became the Director of Marketing & Communications at FXR Factory Racing Inc before taking on their current role as the Vice President of Marketing, Communications, & Events at United Way of Winnipeg starting from 2018.

David Hawthorne has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Communications from The University of Winnipeg. David also attended the University of Manitoba for graduate school, where they studied Philosophy/Logic. Additionally, they completed an Advanced Program in Management, Leadership, and Strategy at the University of Manitoba, focusing on Business Administration and Management. In March 2019, they obtained the Certified Marketer (CM) Advanced Standing certification from the Canadian Marketing Association.
