Heather Block

Heather Block is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in strategic initiatives and nonprofit management. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the United Way of Winnipeg since September 2010, Heather has previously held the role of Manager of Strategic Initiatives within the same organization. In 2024, Heather contributed as a Sessional Instructor for the Not for Profit Management course at the University of Winnipeg. Earlier roles include Project Coordinator at the Manitoba CAPC Coalition and Associate Executive Director/Program Manager at Andrews Street Family Centre, alongside previous leadership positions at The Laurel Centre and Voices for Non-Violence. Heather holds a Bachelor of Social Work and has pursued an MBA at the University of Manitoba, complemented by educational experiences at the Sage Hill Writing and CMU School of Writing programs.
