Charmaine Brown

Charmaine Brown serves as the Vice President and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at United Way, focusing on promoting health, education, and financial stability in communities. Additionally, Charmaine is the Co-Chair of the Maryland Commission on Climate Change and leads the Climate Justice Steering Committee, advocating for equity in climate initiatives. Previous roles include President of the Finance of America Companies Foundation and Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Finance of America Companies, where Charmaine developed organizational DE&I programs and policies. Experience also includes the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the Mortgage Bankers Association and Chief Equity Officer for St. Charles County Government. Charmaine's extensive background in diversity strategy is complemented by a Master's degree in Communications from The Johns Hopkins University, and various executive education programs focused on diversity management.
