Rick Barnette

Rick Barnette is a seasoned network engineering professional with extensive experience in network optimization and implementation. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer for Kinetic Network Optimization at Uniti Group Inc. since August 2025, Rick focuses on reducing Legacy TDM platforms. Prior to this role, Rick spent 18 years at Windstream, where responsibilities ranged from Senior Engineer in Network Optimization to roles as an Implementation Engineer and Senior Network Engineer, specializing in VoIP and TDM switching platforms, voicemail systems, and project management for office decomm and switch consolidation. Earlier career roles include positions at CT Communications and Alltel, demonstrating a strong foundation in engineering CO switches, DC power plants, and collocation installations. Rick holds an Associate degree in Applied Science, Electronics Engineering Technology from CPCC.
