Brandy Pennington

Corporate Controller & Business Unit CFO at Unity Aluminum

With more than 15 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, Brandy Pennington is a seasoned professional.

As Corporate Controller and Business Unit CFO for Unity Aluminum, Brandy is responsible for the oversight of all accounting and financial reporting functions, including supervision of the monthly close process, the annual financial statement audit, management of the payroll and accounts payable functions, preparation of the annual budget and monthly budget analysis. Brandy also works closely with other members of senior management to implement sound financial policies and procedures.

Brandy began her career in public accounting with Ernst & Young and has since held multiple positions with large, publicly traded companies such as Lexmark and Valvoline; most recently serving as the Director of Financial and SEC Reporting for Ramaco Resources, Inc. Prior to that role, Brandy served as the Financial Reporting Manager for Valvoline, playing a vital role on the team leading the Valvoline side of the spin-off from Ashland, Inc. Upon completion of the spin-off, Valvoline, Inc. became a standalone $2 billion company.

From November 2010 to December 2015, Brandy served as the SEC Compliance Manager for RAAM Global Energy Company, with full responsibility for registering the company with the SEC and completing an exchange offer for its $150 million bonds. She set up the company’s external reporting process and implemented appropriate internal controls to ensure the company was Sarbanes Oxley compliant and was promoted from this role to serve as RAAM’s Corporate Controller.

Brandy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Morehead State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Brandy was a member of the Junior League of Lexington from 2010 to 2014. In 2012, Brandy was honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Junior League of Lexington in recognition of her service as the Horse Show Board Treasurer and extensive service to the Girls on the Run Central KY organization as both a Board member and coach for one of the schools served by the program.
