One of Kentucky’s most-respected economic developers, Terry Gill previously served as Secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, where he was responsible for promoting the development and overall administration of executive policies designed to support and promote economic development within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
As Secretary, Terry worked extensively to coordinate business activities, resulting in a record-breaking $15.8 billion invested in Kentucky businesses during his tenure. Terry oversaw the Cabinet’s efforts to encourage job retention, and the creation of 32,400 new jobs through recruitment of new industries to the state and the expansion of existing Kentucky operations. Terry also reorganized the Commonwealth’s entrepreneurial agency launching KY Innovate and C3, a unique public-private partnership that includes an early-stage VC fund, regional innovation centers and a unique centralized effort to accelerate the commercialization of IP by creating a bilateral effort between the private sector and the state’s leading university partners.
Prior to serving as Secretary, Terry was the President of OneTouchPoint, a private equity-controlled marketing services organization for Fortune 500 manufacturing, healthcare and consumer product companies with a full range of brand support and marketing services. As the President of the East division, he was responsible for the growth and M&A initiatives that made the company the largest privately held marketing services and technical printing company in the region.
Before coming to OneTouchPoint, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of FetterGroup. After acquiring control of the company in 2007, he led a strategic shift and reorganization that led to the company’s development of innovative content creation and change management software platforms now utilized by Fortune 500 companies. FetterGroup was acquired by Fort Dearborn in 2013.
Terry holds a BBA degree in Marketing with a Minor in Economics from the University of Kentucky. He serves the community through various 501c3 organizations, civic involvement as well as corporate board positions—including as founding Chairman of the Board for the Commonwealth Commercialization Center (C3), a statewide innovation engine created to fuel economic growth. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for West End School, a free boarding school for “at-risk” boys, grades Pre-K through 8, from the West End neighborhoods Louisville, Kentucky.
