Sam Shipherd has extensive experience in the non-profit sector and banking. Currently serving as a Development Associate at Unity House of Troy since 2011, responsibilities include managing direct mail appeals and creating marketing and public relations materials using tools like Raiser's Edge and Constant Contact. Prior to this role, Sam held the position of Assistant Vice President at Lloyds TSB International Private Banking from 1994 to 2002, where services were tailored for high net worth individuals, particularly non-resident aliens from Latin America. Sam earned a Bachelor's Degree in Latin American Studies from Rutgers University after attending Rowan University from 1987 to 1990.

Unity House is a Rensselaer County-based human service agency that provides a wide range of services to meet the otherwise unmet needs of people in our community who are hurting and struggling. We assist those who are living in poverty, adults living with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays. We work to achieve social justice in our community and to create a better understanding of those we serve.
