Benjamin Dessart

Benjamin Dessart has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Benjamin started their career as a Political Director in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013. Following this, they worked as a Legal Intern at McGuireWoods Consulting in 2015. In 2014, they served as a Legislative Assistant in the Virginia House of Delegates and concurrently worked as a Contractor at Altria. In 2017, Benjamin joined Dominion Energy as a Legal Intern and later in the same year, they joined Universal Leaf Tobacco Company as Director of Corporate Affairs. Benjamin continued their tenure at Universal Leaf Tobacco Company as Director of External Affairs from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of External Affairs at Universal Corporation, starting in December 2022.

Benjamin Dessart completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia in 2012. Benjamin then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Law degree (JD) from the University of Richmond School of Law between 2014 and 2017. In February 2019, they obtained certification as an Attorney from the Virginia State Bar.
