Dr. Johan Pretorius

Dr. Johan Pretorius has an extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Dr. Johan started their career at Medicross Healthcare in 1991, where they served as the Medical Director until 1999. Dr. Johan then joined Qdot Pharma as the Managing Director from 1999 to 2001. Subsequently, they worked at Cato Research as the Managing Director from 2001 to 2003. Dr. Johan then took on the role of CEO at Prime Cure Group (Pty) Ltd from 2003 to 2007. Currently, they are the Chairman & Group Chief Executive Officer at Universal Healthcare, a position they have held since 2007.

Dr. Johan Pretorius received their medical education from the University of the Witwatersrand, where they obtained their MBBCh degree in Medicine in 1989. In 1999, they pursued further education at the University of the Free State, completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in healthcare management between 1999 and 2001. In 2015, Dr. Pretorius attended a program on Global Innovation in Healthcare at the Harvard Business School.
