Kayla Schmandt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in commercial affairs and retail promotion within the music industry. Currently serving as Vice President of Commercial Affairs at Universal Music Group since October 2016, Kayla has held various key positions including Senior Director of Commercial Affairs Analytics and Director of Label Catalogue at Capitol Records. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Accounts and Label Relations at Neurotic Media and establishing the Retail Promotion Department at Colortest, where Kayla built strong relationships with over 300 independent retail buyers. Earlier career roles also include Head Retail Coordinator at Trebuchet Media. Kayla holds dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Music Business and Advertising, as well as Spanish, from the University of Georgia.
