Steve Riester attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration Degree from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, specializing in Operations. Steve attended the business school from 1995 to 1997.
