Carlos García González

VP for Art, Architecture and Design at Universidad de Monterrey

Carlos García González has extensive work experience in the academic and architectural fields. Carlos currently holds the position of Vicerrector Académico at the Universidad de Monterrey, where they are responsible for ensuring academic excellence and managing educational programs. Prior to this role, they served as Vicerrector de Educación Superior and Vicerrector de Arte, Arquitectura y Diseño at the same institution. Carlos has also worked as Dean of the Centro Roberto Garza Sada, Escuela de Arte, Arquitectura y Diseño, where they oversaw the academic excellence of various programs.

Outside of academia, Carlos has served as a Consejero Ejecutivo at the Cluster de Vivienda de Nuevo León and Consejero de CONARTE (Consejo para la Cultura y las Artes de Nuevo León) for the Government of Nuevo León. Additionally, they have worked as an independent architect and has held teaching positions at various universities, including ESNE, Escuela Universitaria de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología, Universidad de Alicante, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Carlos has a strong background in architecture and has been involved in the development and coordination of architectural projects, as well as the teaching and coordination of exhibitions. Carlos has also served as the Director of the International Conference on Dual Design/ Congreso Internacional de Diseño Dual.

Carlos García González holds a PhD in Architecture with an International mention from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, which they acquired from 2011 to 2014. Carlos also earned a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree from the Universitat d'Alacant between 1997 and 2004. In 2010 to 2011, they pursued a Master in Advanced Architectural Projects at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Furthermore, Carlos has obtained additional certifications, including "Mejora tu productividad" and "Persuadir a los demás" from LinkedIn in 2019. In terms of executive education, they completed programs such as "Finanzas para Directivos" at Esade in 2018 and the "Manchester Management Development Programme" at The University of Manchester in the same year. Carlos also participated in the "Programa Ejecutivo para Consejeros de Administración" at EGADE Business School in 2018.
