Diego Guzmán

Diego Guzmán is a legal professional specializing in intellectual property and cultural legislation, with significant experience in academia and consulting. Currently a professor and coordinator at Universidad Externado de Colombia, Diego designs and instructs courses in cultural legislation and copyright law while overseeing research in intellectual property. As the Director of Diego Guzman Abogados, Diego focuses on trademark registration, drafting intellectual property contracts, and providing comprehensive legal consultancy. Additionally, in 2024, Diego will coordinate the Intellectual Property Team for the Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, leading the development of strategies to enhance Colombia's National Science and Technology System. Diego's extensive background includes instrumental roles in the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, specializing in trademark matters, and a solid academic foundation with a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from Cardozo School of Law and a Specialist degree from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
