Juan David Bazzani Montoya

Juan David Bazzani Montoya is an accomplished legal professional and educator currently serving as a full professor and coordinator of graduate programs in criminal law at Universidad Externado de Colombia since July 2020. In addition to teaching various courses in criminal procedure, evidence, and tax law, Juan David oversees the criminal law specializations within the department. As a founding partner of Riveros Bazzani Abogados since July 2019, Juan David leads the firm’s criminal litigation and strategic consulting efforts. Previously, Juan David held multiple advisory roles at the Fiscalía General de la Nación from July 2013 to August 2018, including advising the General Fiscal and the Vice Fiscal General on the National Accusatory Criminal System. Academically, Juan David holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Criminal Law from the University at Buffalo and specialized in Criminal Procedural Law at Universidad Externado de Colombia, where a law degree was also obtained.
