Gelson Leonardo Rech

Gelson Leonardo Rech holdsa Degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy Nossa Senhora da Imaculada Conceição, a specialist in Strategic Administration of Services from the University of Caxias do Sul with an improvement course in Hospital Management. Master in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and Doctor in Education from the Federal University of Pelotas. He worked in the management of the General Hospital of Caxias do Sul (1997-2005); he was director of a School of Vocational Education and manager of a Higher Education Institution. From 2011 to 2014 he worked as a technical member of the Commission for Qualification of Undergraduate Courses at the University of Caxias do Sul, an institution where he has been a professor since 2003 in the area of ​​Philosophy and Education. In 2014, he assumed the role of Chief of Staff of the rectory of the University of Caxias do Sul. Since August 2019 he has been Executive Director of the Universidade de Caxias do Sul Foundation. He is an associate of SBHE and ASPHE. He is a member of the Research Group History of Education, Immigration and Memory (GRUPHEIM) at the University of Caxias do Sul and a member of the Center for Studies and Investigations in History of Education at the Federal University of Pelotas. Research areas: Philosophy of Education, History of Education (Italian immigration and ethnic education), Epistemology, and Ethics.
