Edson Bortoni serves as the President of Universidade Federal de Itajubá since March 1999, overseeing general management and political entrepreneurship while teaching subjects related to Electrical Machines, Power Generation, and Instrumentation. As a Full Professor, Associate Professor, Adjunct Professor, and Assistant Professor, Edson has contributed significantly to academic settings. Since January 2006, Edson has held the position of Principal Scientist at the Excellence Center in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Generation, a non-profit dedicated to energy efficiency across the energy chain. Additional roles have included Scientific Coordinator and Project Development Manager at Centro de Hidrogênio Verde, Visiting Professor at Politecnico di Torino and EPFL, and Invited Professor at Montanuniversität Leoben. Prior consulting experience includes a decade at Quadlogic Controls Corp., focusing on smart energy meters, and research at Unesp and Inmetro. Edson holds degrees in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems Planning, and a Doctorate in Power Systems from esteemed Brazilian institutions.
