Cristina Pujades Corbi

Vice Chancellor for Research at Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona

Cristina Pujadas is a professor at Pompeu Fabra University. After defending his doctoral thesis at the University of Barcelona (1991), he did a postdoc at the DFCI-Harvard Medical School (Boston) until 1995, when he left for Paris, where he did a second postdoc at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and in 1999 won a permanent position at the Pierre and Marie Curie University (now Sorbonne University).

Since then, he has been fascinated by developmental neurobiology, and how information in DNA and genes unfolds during morphogenesis. This has been the central axis of his scientific career. In 2002, he had the opportunity to join the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences (now Medicine and Life Sciences) of Pompeu Fabra University, where he studies how to coordinate in space and in time the specification and differentiation of neural progenitors in brain formation (https://pujadeslab.upf.edu/). It currently has the recognition of ICREA Acadèmia (2015-2020, 2021-2025) from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

She has served in institutional positions, first as academic secretary and deputy director of the Department (2007-2015); then, as the rector's delegate for Research (2015-2017), and as vice-rector of Teaching and vice-rector of Talent Recruitment and Retention (2017-2021).
