Prof. Dr. Marcin Grzegorzek

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marcin Grzegorzek serves as the Director of AI for Assistive Health Technologies at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since July 2024 and is a Co-Founder of expandAI GmbH since April 2023. Holding a position as a Full Professor and Head of the Medical Data Science Lab at Universität zu Lübeck since October 2018, Marcin has also led the AI Motion Lab at Fraunhofer IMTE from February 2023 to April 2024 and served on the Scientific Advisory Board of Perfood from January 2020 to December 2022. Previous roles include Senior Lecturer and Head of the Research Group for Pattern Recognition at Universität Siegen and Postdoc in Multimedia Analysis and Computer Vision at Universität Koblenz-Landau. Marcin co-founded and chaired the Data Understanding Lab (DULab) and held a fellowship and leadership role for the "Cognitive Robotics" project at Stiftung Neue Verantwortung. Education includes a Doctor of Engineering from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and a habilitation in Engineering from AGH University of Krakow.
