Louise Béliveau is a holder of a doctorate in physical activity sciences from the University of Montreal, Louise Béliveau has been teaching at the School of Kinesiology and Physical Activity Sciences since 1991. She is a specialist in exercise physiology and physical activity in groups with special needs. She participated in the creation of the Kinesiology Clinic and was Director of the Department of Kinesiology before becoming, in 2001, Associate Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. From 2010 to 2015, she held the position of vice-rector for student affairs and sustainable development, during which time she notably developed the first institutional plan to support student success and contributed to the establishment of sustainable development.
In 2015, she was appointed vice-rector for student affairs and studies and worked, among other things, on the establishment of an institutional direction for continuing education and the Center for University Teaching. A member of several boards of directors, she was president of the Association of Deans of Graduate Studies of Quebec and of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire. She was also vice-president of the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies and of the table of academic vice-presidents of the Regroupement des universities du research du Canada, the U15. Louise Béliveau was associate editor of the Canadian Journal of Applied Physiology from 2000 to 2003. She is an honorary member of the Federation of Kinesiologists of Quebec. In 1996, the University presented him with an award for excellence in teaching.
