Manel Djemel

Manel Djemel currently serves as a civil security advisor at Ville de Laval since April 2025. Simultaneously, Djemel has been a lecturer at Université de Montréal since October 2014, teaching courses on ethics in planning and the relationship between architecture, culture, and globalization. As a Ph.D. candidate in Architecture and Planning, notable contributions include roles as publications editor and research assistant within the IF (grif) research group. Previous positions include director of development and partnerships at RIISQ, division chief of urbanism at the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, and various roles focusing on flood recovery in Rigaud. Djemel's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Planning and Management from Université de Montréal and a Master of Architecture from École Nationale d'Architecture et d'Urbanisme, complemented by extensive professional experience in both academia and urban planning.
