Paul Fortier is a Full Professor at Université Laval, with expertise in digital communications, sub-optimal decoding algorithms, OFDM, Turbo and LDPC codes, and applications in mobile and optical communications. Fortier has a substantial academic career that includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in discrete signals, digital communications, and random processes, along with various leadership roles such as Graduate Programs Chair and Department Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Additionally, Fortier has served as Vice-president of Research and Innovation and as Director of the Institute for Information Technologies and Societies, where efforts focused on fostering knowledge production and development projects. Fortier also held the position of Vice-president at FQRNT, overseeing grant and partnership initiatives. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Statistics from Stanford University, as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Université Laval.
